German born Eckhard has created a unique body of work that celebrates the heroes of western European and American History, including such revered figures as: Wardell Gray, Walter Benjamin, Max Beckman, Richard Lindner, Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orosco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Vincent van Gogh, all the way back to George Washington crossing the Delaware. His works are of unusually large dimensions for Pastel renderings. They evoke poignant moments and unexpected juxtapositions of portraiture with immutable settings.
